--color=16 or --color=base16 changed after updating to 0.66.0.

are these color changes intended?

Yes, it's mentioned in the release note. See #4501 for details.

If you like the old scheme, you'll have to manually configure it using --color.

Thank you for linking the PR. Setting --color=current-bg:0,border:0 reverts the scheme back to the old style again.
