Error in matplotlib inline test when using --nbdime/nbval because of missing parameter in pytest hook call ?

I'm not quite sure what to do as it seem config has been a required parameter for quite some time. Adding config-self.config seem to work, but trigger other issues, and it seem unlikely that a problem like this stayed undiscovered for such a long time; so I'm likely doing something wrong ?

Am I right in thinking you must be using the --nbdime option as well, to hit that line? I don't use that, and the nbdime integration code hasn't been touched in a few years. None of nbval is changing very much, but it might be that almost no-one is using the nbdime integration and so it hasn't been keeping up with pytest changes.

If you can see what needs to be fixed, PRs welcome. 🙂

Yes, it's likely the --nbdime, and I'm trying to fix matplotlib-inline because it has not been release and IPython tests use a install from main, which I'm trying to fix because I have not touched IPython in month.

I might look into it, but I might as well just remove the --nbdime from matplotlib inline, because I'm not sure I'll have the time to spend on more sidetracks :-)
