I’m experiencing an issue with GitHub Sponsors payouts.

My last payout was on October 20, 2025. Since then, the “next payout” date has been set to the 22nd of the following month. When that date arrives, it doesn’t pay out — instead the payout date gets pushed back by another month again. This has repeated multiple times, and I haven’t received any payouts since October 20, 2025.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
What can be done? I've already opened a support ticket, but nothing is happening.

This is a known pattern that can happen with GitHub Sponsors payouts, and it’s usually related to payment verification or compliance holds, rather than the payout system itself being “stuck.”

A few things that are worth double-checking if you haven’t already:

• Payment processor status: GitHub Sponsors payouts are handled via Stripe. Any pending verification (tax forms, identity verification, bank confirmation, or changes to payout details) can silently pause payouts and keep pushing the “next payout” date forward.
• Tax information: If a W-8/W-9 form is missing, expired, or flagged for review, payouts will not be released until it’s resolved.
• Minimum payout thresholds or failed transfers: A failed payout attempt can cause the date to roll forward until the issue is cleared.
• Country or banking changes: Updates to bank accounts or changes in residency sometimes trigger manual review.

Since you’ve already opened a support ticket, that’s the right path. Unfortunately, the community can’t resolve payout issues directly, but a couple of practical suggestions:

• Reply to the existing ticket asking specifically whether there is a Stripe verification or compliance hold on your account.
• Check your Sponsors dashboard and Stripe dashboard for any banners or pending actions.
• If the ticket has been inactive for a while, opening a follow-up or referencing the existing ticket ID can sometimes help escalate it.

If this turns out to be a wider issue affecting multiple sponsors, GitHub Support is the only team that can confirm or fix it. From community reports in the past, once the underlying verification issue is resolved, payouts usually resume and include the accumulated balance...!
